  • Slide is a Survivor movement option.
  • Choose where you want to end the move before activating it.
  • Movement does not by itself guarantee protection from a hit.

Use the move to improve your position

Abyssal Escape Slide gives a Survivor a movement option during a chase. Its practical value is the position you reach afterward. Before using it, identify the next part of your route rather than treating the animation as an escape plan by itself.

Abyssal Escape: SlideGive the slide a useful route instead of spending it without a destination.

Slide appears among starter options in prelaunch coverage. Available starter lists can change, so check your current ability menu before assuming an unlock price or a permanent free selection.

Keep the route connected to the objective

A useful movement decision takes you away from immediate pressure while preserving a task you can return to. Sliding toward another Survivor who is clearing mist may move the threat onto their work. Consider a different direction when the map gives you that choice.

During the exit window, use the highlighted escape as your destination. An unnecessary detour still costs time even when you travel through it quickly. Do not assume that Slide grants an undocumented period of invulnerability.

Give the other slot a different purpose

If Slide already fills the movement role you want, compare a defensive, recovery or disruption option for the second slot. A second movement choice is a deliberate specialization, with less room for another kind of help.

The Abyssal Escape Survivor loadout guide explains that tradeoff. Use it to decide what should happen after the movement, rather than changing both slots whenever one chase goes badly.
