Abyssal Escape 2017X Guide: Rushdown and Beast Transition
2017X Guide
- Running fills the meter used for Top Speed.
- Spin Dash and Obsession serve different pursuit decisions.
- Beast Form replaces the early kit, so learn the transition as well.
Turn the running meter into a useful approach
Abyssal Escape 2017X begins with a rushdown kit. Running builds the meter that enables Top Speed, giving you a reason to connect movement with the next target you intend to pressure. Filling the bar while ignoring the rest of the round is not the whole plan.
Choose a route that puts the enhanced sprint to work. You want access to a Survivor position, not simply a longer stretch of fast movement.
Choose between a contact line and a marked target
Spin Dash is a rolling contact attack. Obsession marks a Survivor and grants pursuit benefits while you remain near that target. One asks for a useful collision line; the other asks whether staying with the marked player serves the match.
Do not let a marker become a reason to ignore all objective progress elsewhere. The benefit is a tool for a deliberate chase, not an instruction to follow one Survivor for the rest of the round.
Prepare to change attacks in Beast Form
The later Beast Form changes 2017X's basic attack and active moves. That means the early sprint-and-roll pattern is preparation for only one part of the character. Learn what the transformation replaces so the next phase does not become a search for a missing button.
The Abyssal Escape 2017X Beast Form guide explains the ground slam, Roar, Savage Jump and Vicious Grab. It adds the later approach decisions rather than repeating the early meter explanation.
