Abyssal Escape Furnace Abilities: Flight, Slash and Fire
Furnace Abilities
- Charge Heat prepares a resource rather than catching a target by itself.
- Flight and slash help Furnace reach or pressure a position.
- Scorched Earth threatens Survivors in front of him.
Choose the effect you need before activating
Abyssal Escape Furnace abilities cover different jobs. Charging prepares Heat, flight helps with movement and tracking, the slash changes your forward approach, and Scorched Earth applies flame pressure ahead of you. Using the wrong tool for the situation can waste the resource that made another option useful.
Start with the obstacle: do you need to reach the target, prepare Heat or cover the space directly in front of you?
Connect movement to the next attack position
Flight is useful when it gives you a better route or access to a Survivor position. A forward dash and slash asks for a different alignment. Think about where the move leaves you, rather than treating distance traveled as success on its own.
Scorched Earth can affect multiple Survivors in front of Furnace. Aim toward the actual group or route you want to pressure. The existence of forward flame coverage does not mean a target behind you is affected in the same way.
| Option | Task | Commitment |
|---|---|---|
| Charge Heat | Generate Heat | Stationary and interruptible |
| Thruster Flight | Travel and tracking | Spends Heat |
| Claw Slash / Strike | Forward approach and attack | Needs useful alignment |
| Scorched Earth | Forward flame pressure | Direction and spacing matter |
Account for the Survivor response
Charging can be interrupted by stuns, and Survivors can spread out against forward multi-target pressure. Keep those responses in mind when deciding whether another charge or an immediate approach is useful.
The Abyssal Escape Furnace counterplay guide explains that opposing decision. Reading it helps distinguish a move's function from a promise that using it in any position will produce a hit.
