Abyssal Escape How to Counter Furnace: Spacing and Charge
How to Counter Furnace
- A stun can interrupt Charge Heat.
- Scorched Earth can threaten multiple Survivors in front of Furnace.
- Spacing helps avoid giving one forward attack the whole group.
Recognize what Furnace is committing to
To counter Furnace in Abyssal Escape, distinguish a charging moment from an active approach. Charge Heat keeps him in place and can be interrupted by a stun. If your equipped move actually supplies that effect and the situation is useful, the channel creates a different decision from an ordinary chase.
Do not assume every projectile or disruption is a stun. Use the effect your ability currently applies, rather than a broad label copied from another move.
Avoid presenting the whole team to forward fire
Scorched Earth threatens Survivors in front of Furnace and can affect more than one target. When possible, spread the group instead of standing on the same line. That gives his forward pressure fewer opportunities to catch everyone together.
Spacing is a recommendation based on the attack's direction, not a guaranteed dodge distance. Continue watching the actual approach and keep a route you can use if he changes position with flight or a slash.
Keep a response for the follow-up
An interrupted charge does not end Furnace's match, and a missed flame approach does not remove his other tools. Save a useful movement or defensive option for the next moment when it matters, rather than spending everything on the first opening.
The Abyssal Escape stamina guide explains why that reserve matters for abilities. It adds resource planning to the matchup without inventing invulnerability windows or a universal safe route.
