Abyssal Escape Furnace Heat: Charging and Flight
Furnace Heat
- Hits and Charge Heat generate the resource.
- Heat spending should support travel or pressure you actually need.
- A stun can interrupt the stationary charging action.
Choose whether you need preparation or pressure
Furnace Heat in Abyssal Escape is a resource to build and spend. Hits generate it, and Charge Heat gives you another way to prepare it. Before charging, ask whether the current moment calls for preparation or an immediate response to a reachable Survivor.
A full bar is not the victory condition. Keeping it unused while objectives progress can be less helpful than spending part of it to reach a useful location.
Price the charging commitment in position
Charging holds Furnace in place and can be interrupted by a stun. Choose the moment with that commitment in mind. If a nearby Survivor can pressure the channel, repeatedly restarting it may give them the same opportunity again.
Heat-supported flight and slash can help turn stored resources into movement or attack pressure. Decide where you want to end up before spending, so the move changes the chase instead of only emptying the meter.
Adapt when passive support changes the rhythm
Furnace gains a later-phase Heat benefit that supports resource availability while moving. Use that to reassess how often you need to stop, while continuing to choose a target and a route. A passive improvement does not remove the need for those decisions.
The Abyssal Escape Furnace ability reference adds the individual move functions. Use it when the resource plan is clear but you still need to choose between flight, forward slash and flame coverage.
